Privacy policy
We’re a small family business. We collect only what we need to quote and do your job, we don’t sell it, and you can ask to see or delete it at any time.
Last updated October 26, 2026
This policy explains how SKJ Home Solutions (“we”, “us”) handles personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). It covers this website, our quote forms, and calls, texts and emails with us.
Who is responsible
Milad, the owner, is our Privacy Officer and is accountable for how we handle your information. Contact him at sales@skjhomesolutions.com or (647) 818-3641.
What we collect
- When you ask for a quote: your name, phone number, city, the services you’re interested in and, if you choose to give them, your email address, home type, timeline, preferred contact method and any notes.
- When you become a customer: your address, the details of the work, photos of the install area if you agree, and payment and invoice records.
- When you call, text or email us: your number or address and what you tell us.
- When you use this website: technical information such as your device, browser, approximate location from your IP address, the pages you visit and how you got here (for example, an ad you clicked).
Why we use it
We use your information to reply to you, prepare your quote, book and carry out the work, invoice you, honour your warranty, and keep the records the law requires. We use website information to see which pages and ads bring people to us and to fix problems with the site. We don’t use your information for anything else without asking you first, and we never sell or rent it.
Your consent
By sending a quote request, calling, texting or emailing us, you agree that we may contact you about that request. We only send marketing messages, such as seasonal offers, if you’ve said yes, and every one includes a way to unsubscribe, as Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) requires. You can withdraw your consent at any time by telling us, subject to legal or contract limits; if you do, we may not be able to finish your quote or job.
Cookies and website tools
This site uses cookies and similar technology from these providers:
- Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are useful.
- Google Ads, to measure which ads lead to quote requests and calls. When you arrive from one of our ads, the site may show a Google forwarding number, so Google can tell us a call came from the ad. Google sees the call’s time, length and area code, not what is said. When you send a quote request, your browser also sends Google a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email and phone number, so Google can match the request to an ad click; Google can’t read the originals. If you later book a job with us, we tell Google that the ad click led to a job, using the same scrambled details or the ad’s click ID, never your name or address.
- PostHog, to understand how people use the site, including anonymous recordings of page activity. Anything you type into forms is hidden from these recordings.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com, and install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site still works without these cookies.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need: our website host (Netlify), our form delivery service (Web3Forms), our email provider (Google Workspace), and the analytics and advertising tools above. They must protect it and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under local law.
Cameras and smart devices we install
When we install cameras, doorbells, alarms or smart blinds, we set them up in your own accounts and on your devices. We don’t keep copies of your footage or your passwords, and we only access your system if you ask us to, for example for support.
How long we keep it
If you don’t go ahead with a job, we delete your quote request within 2 years. For customers, we keep job and invoice records for at least 6 years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires, and for as long as your warranty runs. After that we delete or anonymise them.
How we protect it
We keep your information in password-protected accounts with two-step sign-in where available, limit access to the people who do your job, and use providers that encrypt data in transit. No method is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever puts you at real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and report it to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or shared, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email sales@skjhomesolutions.com. We’ll reply within 30 days, free of charge. We may need to confirm your identity first, and in rare cases the law may require us to keep some records.
Concerns
If you have a concern, please contact our Privacy Officer first so we can make it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
Changes
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
